Tonight my family and I were discussing the Christian Book catalog that arrived recently and my mom mentions she saw her new book listed. Sure enough classics such as “Hope that Sings” and “The Unfolding Heart” by J. Grote can be yours today. So I guess my mother has been moonlighting as a Christian romance novelist. Apparently she’s “so desperate for romance I had to start writing my own.” After that comment I cast my bewildered gaze to my father who shrugged and said, “at least she’s getting it somewhere.” Huh? No child should have to hear such things from their parents.
